In the middle of these adorable tiny hiker posts, we thought we would talk about some of her hiking gear:

REI Backpack - I believe it is the Tarn REI brand backpack for kids. It was the smallest one they had. It is actually a great backpack. It has a spot for a water reservoir and to feed out the hose. Jordan loves drinking from the reservoirs. It has the perfect pockets for the few things she carries. She is currently using it for preschool and it has been great for carrying her stuff back and forth.

Hiking poles - We got some kids adjustable telescoping hiking poles on amazon. They are currently in stock or else I could link them here. They work great in their fully collapsed length right now. They extend far enough for Anjuli to use and she is 5'6" tall, so they could potentially last throughout Jordan's life. It is absolutely adorable when Jordan uses them. Everyone loves seeing her on the trail with them. They fit well on the back of her backpack when she doesn't want to use them anymore, usually when she wants to eat or collect sticks/stones.

Sunglasses - Her sunglasses give her an extra cool munchkin hiker look.

Baby carrying backpack - We were gifted the Deuter kid comfort active carrier when Jordan was still too tiny to even use it. It has been perfect for us. We have done so many hikes with her in that pack. It has room to carry stuff on the bottom and little stirrups for her feet. We can put 2 reservoirs in the bottom as well so she always has her own. We got the canopy as well as a rain cover. We upgraded the chin rest to a thicker, softer one for times she fell asleep.

Trail Majik Kid Carrier - We got this sling type carrier that attaches to the front of your existing hiking backpacks. Jordan likes it, though when we attach it to a small backpack, it wears out your back quickly at this age/weight. It is meant to attach to a frame backpack, I believe. Anyway, we carry it with us for cases where Jordan hikes most of it, but needs a lift on the way back. It's easier than carrying her freehand.

Hiking Clothes - Her little reversible REI red/orange vest has become her trademark look for hiking. It's always fun to dress her up for her hikes.
