We are gearing up for the next trip. We are going for more of a slower pace, less driving sort of trip this year.

We ended up shortening our 2025 trip by quite a bit so we don't have to pull Jordan out of preschool so much. We are also having Bruce drive out ahead of time to save on cross country drive time for Jordan, for both school and toddler comfort purposes. Jordan and Anjuli will fly out to Salt Lake City when Jordan's schedule allows. This also allows Bruce to have a week to go fly fishing in his old Colorado favorite spots, his dream. We will do the same in reverse on the way home in the Fall half of the 2025 trip.
This trip is mostly to complete what we didn't get to do in 2023 due to the truck issues we had that year and getting Covid in Zion. We added in an approximate daily high temperature color scale in the left column. The orange color of the Fishing through Zion days means it will be a normal comfortable in shorts sort of temperature and we can go without air conditioning if we want. The darker color later than that means it will be noticeably hot where we might need to keep an eye day by day and plan to go out earlier in the day to stay more comfortable, and will want to be able to use our air conditioning. For example, we wanted to stay in the campground in Arches, but changed to the KOA in Moab since 5 nights in hot weather would be too much and less enjoyable with nowhere to cool off (due to the lack of electric hookups in Arches itself). We also would have stayed at Goblin Valley campground, but again, want electric so we will have a short drive in instead.
Ideally, we would have done this trip a month sooner with the Moab half of locations in the first weeks of the trip like we had originally planned to have better temperatures, but due to changing plans to keep Jordan in school longer after booking Zion and Bryce, we had to change Moab to the end.
The colors in the middle columns represent which services we will not have at the campsite, so we plan ahead. The "x" means we have it. Yellow is no electric, and we don't have a real generator yet (not necessary this year, or even next year really, some day). Dark blue means no water in the campground, whereas teal means it is available, but just not at our site. Brown means no dump site, whereas orange means there is a dump available, but just not at our site. All of these mean we need to watch our water usage carefully or risk running out and having to figure out a solution. We always keep extra drinking water in the RV (pre-filter water into 2x 2.5 gallon water cubes, plus fill extra water bottles), but it would be annoying to have to flush the toilet and wash hands with jugs, though we do keep an extra 5 gallon water jug in the truck bed for such purposes.
We haven't dove into details of activities to do since Bruce and Anjuli have been to most of these places before and will probably plan in the evenings before going out. Snow canyon state park will be new for us though.
We return out to the RV for part 2, once again abandoning the RV and truck for a month. Hopefully this time they don't get hailed on...
